World Maths Day
With Alan Turing, Bletchley Park, sacred geometry, Hanslope Park, design of grid roads, the Open University, birth of computing – Milton Keynes is made of maths.
Artist Gordon Young said, “During the engagement programme when Ana worked with the schools, she did the mathematics of The Milton Keynes Rose on a large-scale with cords and wires in the school yard, pegging out the maths. A creative project which I hope will continue at the site – using the columns creatively with cord and string to visually work out complicated maths.”
