On 25 May 2026 there was an event at the Milton Keynes Rose to commemorate the Black Lives Matter Movement and the legacy of George Floyd. A group, which included the Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr. Keith McLean gathered at the pillar which was selected following a public nomination and refers to George Floyd’s death. The inscription states ‘No person should put their knee, chain or noose on another’s neck because of their colour.’
