Following the public nomination in 2024, we were delighted to unveil the latest pillar inscription at the MK Rose. The inscription, chosen by the pillar panel from over 60 public nominations, commemorates Milton Keynes being awarded City status by the late HM Queen Elizabeth II as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
Our newest pillar inscription, which was added to the Founders pillar, was unveiled on 20 May 2026 by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. During the short ceremony, guests were invited to speak about “Why I love Milton Keynes”.
