On Friday 13 March 2026, Churches Together in Milton Keynes held prayers for the City at the Christ the Cornerstone Pillar at the Milton Keynes Rose. The pillar commemorates the dedication of the Cornerstone building on 13 March 1992.
The Christ the Cornerstone Church was the first ecumenical church in the UK and when it was opened by HM Queen Elizabeth II, the Archbishop of Westminster preached at the service, the first time a Roman Catholic had preached to a monarch since Henry VIII’s days.
