Several events are taking place at the Milton Keynes Rose this July. First up is ‘Never Let Me Stop’ an outdoor dance performance presented by Jean Abreu Dance & Motus Youth Dance. A collaboration between local young dancers and international choreographer Jean Abreu. Everyone is welcome to see this collaborative performance on Saturday 10 July 2021 at 4pm.
On Friday 16 July at 12noon, annual commemoration Disability Awareness Day This annual event at the Milton Keynes Rose will feature speeches, art, music and a picnic. All are welcome to join the celebration, organised in collaboartion with local organisations MK Snap, Camphill Communities MK, MK CIL and MK Arts for Health.
Over the weekends Friday 16 July to Sunday 18 July and Friday 23 July to Sunday 25 July, MK Mandala Flags will be installed at the MK Rose for everyone to visit to see the work of local community groups. 30 hand painted silk flags created with internationally renowed arts companys Kinetika. The flags installtion creates a fantastic spectacle within the Rose and definitely worth viisting and spending time looking at the art works.
With the end of Lockdown fast approaching, a special Freedom Day Concert is to be held at the Milton Keynes Rose in Campbell Park on Monday 19 July at 7pm. Admission free. There will be a lively programme of local artists including Tinkers Lane, UkieToones, Noah’s Cape and soprano, Emily Haig. Also the opportunity to thank all who have helped us through the dark times and to remember that over 500 people have lost their lives as a result of the pandemic in Milton Keynes alone.
