Albert French
Age 16, killed in action, Ploegsteert Wood, Belgium. ‘A’ Company, 18th Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps. Born 22 June 1899, New Bradwell.
Gordon Young said, “I hope this will lead to kids of the exact age getting together. A gathering of kids would be a way of remembering him and contributing to the remembrance of the world war. He was a hero – but just a kid.” Albert French Day is an annual event held on 15 June every year at the Milton Keynes Rose and all are welcome.
